This is an electro-acoustic human animated installation created by me and my friend and teacher Panayiotis Velianitis.
The design is such that when somebody approaches the "clerk" a webcam tracks his moves and triggers a soundscape designed by Panayiotis, which is based on the phrase "It could be YOU - it could be ME" in many languages. The participant is then photographed and is asked to sign a petition (x2) to enter the "country" which has been printed with his name on it. As soon as she/he signs, he is also asked to stamp the petition with a stamp that appears to be soaked in blood-like red ink. There are two stamps, one reading "never made it' and one reading "unwanted". As soon as the participant stamps both copies, the "clerk" gets ups, announces the end of the transaction and destroys the copy he was supposed to keep, letting the participant leave with his own one intact.
